Katelynn Frances Liberty, age 30, of Rayville, Missouri, passed away on August 28, 2026, in Kansas City, Missouri, following a battle with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Her death has left her husband, family, friends and loved ones mourning the loss of a young woman remembered for her accomplishments, dedication and love for those around her.
Katelynn was born on September 18, 1995, in Dallas, Texas. She went on to build an accomplished academic and professional career while creating a loving life with her family.

Her academic achievements reflected her determination and commitment to her future. Beyond her professional accomplishments, however, Katelynn was a beloved wife, daughter, sister and devoted dog owner.

Katelynn is survived by her husband, Brandon Liberty; her parents, Ray and Kimbra Downey; and her sister, Lindsey Hodge.
She also leaves behind her beloved dogs, Rhea, Hera and Athena, who were an important part of her life.
