Brian Vogt, 53, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away at home on Sunday, August 16, 2026, from natural causes. His death has left family members, friends and loved ones mourning while remembering a man who valued his work, family and friendships.

Brian was the son of James Kenneth and Linda Jane (Biggar) Vogt. He graduated from Linn-Mar High School and later attended Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids.

Throughout his working life, Brian was involved in landscaping and most recently worked in commercial sandblasting. His dedication to his work was an important part of his life, and those who knew him also remembered his appreciation for the people closest to him.

Brian enjoyed bowling, watching movies and spending time with dogs. Above all, however, his work, family and friends remained especially important to him.

He is survived by his mother, Jane Vogt Vandervelde; his siblings, Linda (Eric) Haworth, Mark (Carla) Vogt and Laura (Al Franck) Vogt; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Brian was preceded in death by his father, James Vogt.
